Laura Cousins is a community musician and storyteller living in Bournemouth, Dorset.

She believes that using musical instruments, voices, special technology and sensory storytelling - either one-to-one or in a group - can help to

  • strengthen life skills
  • encourage relaxation and focus
  • enhance communication
  • combat isolation and boredom
  • foster creative expression
  • improve confidence
  • encourage participation in a group

Laura uses a person-centred approach that she has developed over the years and that has links to Rod Paton's Lifemusic method and the Reggio Emilia approach (to Early Years education) as well as many similarities to the practice known as Intensive Interaction.  Laura's methods are all about valuing, responding to and celebrating a person's way of being, and including that in the music-making process.

Prices start from £35.00 per hour for one-to-one sessions, but are flexible to suit the needs of individual clients. Please ✍ Email Laura, or call on ☎07972 009 762
